Purchased from an estate sale, this beautiful, door, stopping, coffee, table, conversation piece was meticulously cared for by late local artist and professional photographer, Leon Hertzson, of Long Island.
146 pages, 100 full-page duo-toned plates plus 7 photographic text illustrations. 16” x 13”. The American Wilderness presents the heart of Adams’ legacy in 100 of his most powerful landscapes. This is a magnificent large format and volume. It was envisioned as a master work, a fine book, making with extraordinarily beautiful, rich printing, and thick, glossy paper in keeping with the originals. Adams writings are printed on heavy textured, gray paper, which is interleaved with the images.
This is Adam’s last book project, be gone two years before his death in 1984 at the suggestion of his friend, wilderness Society, president, William Turnage, who provides the I tto diction within the book.
